It boggles my mind that this is still an issue in the US. Here's a snippet from Wikipedia on the situation in our Canadian forces:
"As of 1992, lesbians, gays and bisexuals are allowed to openly serve in the military. A study of gays and lesbians in the Canadian military has found that after Canada’s 1992 decision to allow homosexuals to serve openly in its armed forces, military performance did not decline."
1992, people!! "DID NOT DECLINE!" Duh!
We also officially let women go into combat. Now, I am currently a pacifist pinko, despite six years as a musician in the Naval Reserve in my youth. But I do think that anything a man does in the military, a woman should be allowed to do as well. Hello, gender equality anyone??
Love the cartoon! Am rolling my eyes at John McCain!
Heroes should know when to retire from the field...such as, before they make total asses of themselves.
